This mini quilt’s finished size is 9 1/4″ x 11 3/4″. The blocks are 3″x3″. The border is 1 1/2″ wide.
All these fabrics are reproduction 19th century fabrics, many of them from a Virginia Quilt Museum project from several years ago. I love reproduction fabrics. I made a full size 19th century quilt and I like this mini much better.
For this project, I used a raw-edged applique technique for the first time. I like it for a mini but I’d never use it on something that was going to be washed frequently.
I didn’t put batting in it because batting in minis makes them too stiff. I didn’t do binding either. This was bagged lined and turned, as they say.
